Grid View — Browse Files as Thumbnails

MakerVault offers two ways to browse your file library: list view and grid view. Toggle between them using the icons in the top-right of the toolbar.

  • Click the list icon (rows) to switch to list view.
  • Click the grid icon (squares) to switch to grid view.

Your view preference is saved and restored the next time you open MakerVault.

Each file appears as a card with:

  • Thumbnail — A rendered preview of the file (SVG, image, font sample, LightBurn canvas, 3D model, or custom photo depending on the file type and your preferences)
  • Filename — Truncated if long; hover to see the full name
  • File size — Shown below the filename
  • Favorite star — Appears on hover (or always, if the file is starred)

Thumbnails load lazily as you scroll, so large libraries stay fast.

ActionResult
ClickSelect the file and show its details in the right sidebar
Cmd+clickAdd to / remove from the current selection
Shift+clickSelect a range from the last-selected file to this one
Double-clickOpen the file in its default application

Right-click any card to open the context menu (Open, Reveal in Finder, Rename, etc.).

The grid thumbnail respects your preview preferences. By default, if a file has a custom uploaded photo it shows first. If there is no custom photo, MakerVault falls back to the auto-rendered preview (canvas for LightBurn files, PNG for images, etc.).

You can change the thumbnail priority in Settings → Preferences.

Click the checkbox icon in the toolbar to enable bulk select mode. Checkboxes appear on each card. Use Cmd+click or Shift+click to select multiple files, then apply tags or other bulk actions.
